What's Malaga Fair?

The Malaga Fair (Feria de Malaga) celebrates the re-taking of the city of Malaga that had previously been in Muslim hands, through a series of events that include dancing, flamenco performances, activities for children, and food stands. When the city was re-conquered in 1487 the Catholic Spanish Kings ordered for the creation of the Malaga Festival, to celebrate the recapturing for the city by the Spaniards. It was decided that the Malaga Fair would be dedicated to the Virgin Victoria, the patron saint of the city, and every August the town of Malaga, Spain draws hundreds of thousands of visitors.
