Turkey hosts more than 1000 festivals a year, a combination of national and local scale events that are held in almost every city of the country, which can range from being cultural events to tourist-oriented festivals. In the summer months Instabul becomes a concentrated area, which is when numerous music festivals are held. Celebrations in Turkey include religious events whose dates are determined by the Muslim Hijra calendar, as well as annual harvest extravaganzas. The most important religious festival has been said to be the Ramada.
