Thailand offers many different types of festivals, as Thai people love to celebrate. These festivals vary per region, but range from being Buddhist festivals, to festivals catered for the Western populations on the islands, to martial arts festivals. Two of the most popular and annual festivals are “Songkran,” the water festival, and “Loy Krathong,” which includes sending off small candle lit floats in the river. Both of these festivals are traditional Thai celebrations and are celebrated by the majority of Thai people, with the dates changing by the year because they are celebrated according to the lunar calendar
